Welcome
My name is Mary Williamson
Educator, Children’s Author & Illustrator, and Parenting Coach. Encouraging serious parents in the profound work of raising children successfully.
I teach the Ploughing Approach to Parenting.
The goal of parenting is not simply to have well-behaved, well-mannered children, nor is it to raise successful adults with impressive skills and achievements. Those are the easy parts. The true purpose of parenting is to quietly raise revivalists.
A revivalist is one who brings life, light, and truth to their sphere, regardless of scale or visibility. They are driven by deep, personal conviction both of purpose and of responsibility and will inevitably go on to make real impact.
The winds shifted. We need revivalist children. Therefore parents must train up their children!
The aim cannot anymore be to raise "nice, Christian children" through standard parenting methods and philosophies. Now is the time for deeper knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in your parenting so that your children can be all they are made to be and do all they are made to do, while living a sacrificial life for the Gospel.
To parent is to care, to tend, and to nurture attentively, while also knowing how to guide and mentor. It is the graceful, consistent, and patient effort of raising an unstoppable person. It is a discipleship ministry requiring the utmost level of intentionality.
By practicing the Ploughing Approach, I intentionally make disciples of the nations being birthed from my womb, and make no apologies for it.

My name is Mary Williamson
Educator, Children’s Author & Illustrator, and Parenting Coach. Walking with Spirit-filled mothers on the journey of raising God's children.
The goal of parenting is not simply to have well-behaved children, nor is it to raise impressive kids who wow with their skills and achievements. The true purpose of parenting is to raise revivalists.
A revivalist is someone who spreads the fire of the Holy Spirit wherever they go. But to do that, they must first be revived themselves. This means they must be born again—not from our wombs, but of God.
Can we raise "nice Christian children" with standard, "okay" parenting?
Yes. But that’s not our goal. The winds have shifted. We need revivalist children. Now is the time for a deeper level of intentionality in our parenting.
To parent is to care, to tend, to nurture—while also watching and waiting as God waters and brings increase.
By practicing the Ploughing Approach, we prepare the soil of our children's hearts for God to move in and through them.
More about me later.
First, allow me to tell you a story.
The Field of Great Yield

There once was a poor gardener who desired a fine yield. On this he pondered until at last he exclaimed to himself ‘I will diligently do the work of a plougher’. So he went to work on his very ordinary field.
As he ploughed and ploughed, mockers laughed and asked ‘why does this fool hoe continually?’ Still others said of him, ‘surely, he will die tilling’, for while many made their patches give grain and herb into their hands, not even as much as a tiny plant was seen on his land. He only carried on ploughing.
Earnestly, he tended his field all the more with vigour and joy, smiling and whistling, singing and dancing so that he seemed sillier by the hour!
Passers-by shook their heads in embarrassment of him.
He continued this work until finally, on one fine day, there lay before his eyes a large territory of well-prepared ground, spread out, far and wide, like the broadest train of a bride. He gazed in great delight.
. . .
Now it happened that when seasons changed and waters rained down, he (along with bird and wind) sowed seeds. These seeds took root and the roots grew deep.
The seeds awoke and sprouted, piercing through the dirt, as stems reached toward the sun, and stalks stretched like worshippers hands.
Leaves unfolded, vines climbed, and each plant flowered according to its kind. The shades of glorious colour which now dressed his garden were uncountable.
Those who previously mocked now flooded to see this awesome sight, and to buy from him.
. . .
His yield was so great and so vast, that all manner of vegetation used for clothing, textiles, soaps, perfumes, dyes, medicines, and food for both animal and man was harvested there.
His garden gave material for furniture, houses and boats. Many useful woods, bamboos, and fibres for tools utilised for sport or work did his garden provide.
The seed from his field planted many new gardens more marvellous than his.
And seeing that for as long as the earth existed there would never be an end to the fruit of his labour, that human-kind would forever benefit from what begun in his field, he thanked the Maker for blessing his efforts and for bestowing him wisdom, and could breathe his last and be forgotten.

I have one husband, three sons, three daughters, four cats, and a lot of vegetables, fruit, and herbs to care for.
My favourite thing to do is to be with my husband. (He makes everything else seem boring).
We imagine we'll one day live and build on a farm, surrounded by nature and animals. For now, I personally enjoy time in my garden and long walks in the countryside.
Indoors, I can be found in non-stop chat, play and laughter with my fun family, tending the firewood, or otherwise managing all the house-management systems that manage me...
In little ways, I'm always aiming to prioritise my other favourite things; playing guitar, photography, reading...

Mothers: the idea that there's "no time" is just a myth. We can create time for what matters.
